Now I Lay Me

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep is an amazing non-profit
 organization of volunteer photographers.

Their photographers come at the darkest moments of a parent's life
to capture the beauty amongst the pain and anguish.

They provided us with the most painstakingly beautiful pictures of sweet Joshua.

These photos are the single most awful
and most beautiful pictures
I have ever laid eyes on.

These pictures were taken just hours after 8:58am on Wednesday, October 6, 2010.

We are eternally grateful
for the gift of time and talent
given to us by Kim, a NILMDTS volunteer/photographer.

You can click on any photo below to make them larger.

I love you sweet Joshua.

There are no words... my heart goes out to you both. I have heard of this organization, but with Caleb's passing being so sudden, I didn't know that it could have been done. Heart hugs. ♥

They do amazing work. Sometimes this is the only real pictures that a family ever gets of their baby. Thanks for posting them.

Oh Jill I'm glad you have these photographs. I could not see them myself, too close for comfort. Found I couldn't breathe with the memories.

I'm so thankful for this org, though.

Praying for you.

The pain in your face is shattering yet Joshua is so peaceful. That contrast in the photographs is so confusing. Everything is there and correct, even his snuggly. I can't imagine what you see through your eyes.

No words, just tears and prayers and hugs to you. The pain in your face is so completely raw and the love you both show for your sweet boy is so completely shown. Love to you all.

i see pain, and loss. I see confusion and brokeness. but above all else, i see a baby that was loved and is loved beyond all measure. I see thankfulness for the peace surrounding and within Joshua, but the turmoil that his absence has left.

above all else, I see love. love from a mother and father, love from a husband and wife, love of a savior who is carrying joshua Home.

I love you. I love you all: Jill, Shane, Caleb, Hannah, and Joshua. I feel so blessed to have had my life touched by each and every one of you. I have a couple of pics of Joshie that I took the day I visited. If you want them, let me know and I can send them to you.

Goodness, he's beautiful and so are the pictures. I wish I had known about NILMDTS when Charlie died almost 8 years ago.

beyond speechless. my heart is both touched and saddened but above all reassured...that there is hope when tragedy strikes...that there is a God when you feel the loneliest...that there is peace in chaos.

may god bless you and your family
may joshua watch over you from heaven
