Do you remember my dear friend Kim? You know, the one that made me be overcome with grief when I saw her at Joshua's viewing. The one that kept me sane during our long 7 week stay in the NICU. The one that I consider one of my best friends.
Well, her son Shaun is having his 2nd stage surgery (the hemi-fontan) to help reconstruct his heart tomorrow morning at 6:30am ET. Shaun (who also has HLHS) is just a few months older than Joshua was, and we had big plans for our boys to be friends. Shaun holds a special place in my heart and I can't wait to watch him grow and learn.
Will you please join me in praying for Shaun's surgery tomorrow? I know what it is like to send your baby off for a surgery. I know what it's like to be sick to your stomach the night before because the stress is overwhelming. I know what it's like to hand your baby over to a surgeon that you have only met a handful of times. I know what it's like to face the real possiblity that your baby may never return to you.
Please feel free to go to their site and sign the guestbook with words of encouragment, love, and support. I know Kim and her husband Jeremy would appreciate it.
Thank you dear friends for loving me and for loving Shaun, Kim, and Jeremy.

Praying for your friend and for your beautiful family.
You don't know me, but I know your story. You have touched my heart.
You have all of my love and support. I am here if you need ANYTHING.
I'll be praying!
It's 3:00 a.m. in AZ...6:00 a.m. back east...praying that Shaun will be blessed with a successful surgery this morning and will heal perfectly and very quickly!
My prayers are with this family - your friends, Jill. Thank you for sharing this request with all of us.
I found your story when I was checking on an update on Baby Bowen. I have been praying for your family and will continue to do so. I can't imagine the heart ache? I will also pray for Shaun and his family. May God Give you Peace and Rest.
In Christ,
T.S.
I will be praying for them and you. As a CHF Mom( my 4 yearold daughter was born with Tetralogy of Fallot and had surgery at 5mos and we spent 3 weeks in ICU) I know that horrible moment when you hand your baby over for surgery and wait the hours while the surgery is performed. I will pray grace, peace, and God's hands on everyone involved in the procedure tomorrow!
praying and worrying!! Mary Madar
Just said a prayer and will continue to lift them up.
Will say many many prayers for the family and the Drs. May God Bless!
