Can you do me a favor?

As I'm sitting here this morning thinking about all of the preparations that need to be made before our big trip to Indy in a week, there is one thing that is on my heart and I want to ask you, dear readers, for your help.

We head to Indianapolis on Aug. 15th. Induction will be Aug. 16th at 6:30am. Joshua's first open heart surgery will be approximately around Thursday Aug. 19th.

I am asking each of you to consider passing our story along to your friends, family, and churches. Either just pass our names, a little snippet of what we will be facing soon, or my blog address. Why? Here's why.

God is working. I am a firm believer in the power of prayer. God can do miraculous things when brothers and sisters in Christ come together and pray. I have seen this first hand in my life and in the lives of others around me- how God makes himself evident through the power of prayer. I'm not asking for prayers for a miracle of healing (Shane and I feel very strongly that the Holy Spirit has told us both that He will not take this from us, but will make it managable), I'm asking for prayers that God will be present during birth, in the operating rooms, in Shane and me, and in the entire situation. I'm asking for prayers for comfort, peace, good decisions, and faith. I'm asking for prayers for quick uncomplicated healing for Joshua. And most importantly, if things do not go the way we think they should, I'm asking that God be evident and that we submit to and find comfort in His will.

If you have a blog, please think about grabbing my button to the right and posting it on your blog. If you have a church, please pass our family's name to your church for prayer. If you have a facebook, consider passing the link to my blog on your facebook. (I am currently not receiving any monetary payment from my blog so please don't think I'm passing it along to gain income.) I'm simply asking for prayer for our family to get us through the storms that we face in the very near future.

Thank you dear friends. You all have been a HUGE support for me. You have gotten me through some of my darkest days on this journey so far. I thank God for each of you.

I can't believe I didn't put your button on the blog until today -- what a slacker I am!! I've remedied that and it's up there now. I will share on my main blog also. Your family will be surrounded by light and love and so much prayer!!

eventually I am going to get a Joshua button made, just gotta get the $ to do it! I had this blog and button in the process of being designed before we knew about everything with Joshua's heart. Therefore there is no joshua button...yet!

Jill if you need help making a Joshua button give me a shout. I can put one together for you for FREE. NO problem!

I've been waiting until closer to your due date to share your family on my blog. I am always willing to get those prayer warriors to work. I truly have seen how the power of prayer works!

Stefenie- I left a comment on your blog too. I would love a joshua button made. Part of my wait is that I want to include a picture of him, and can't really do that until he's here! :o) After he arrives I would love to take you up on your offer! :o) Thank you so much!

Hi Jill! I came to your blog from Steve's and wanted to let you know that I'll be sending up many prayers on behalf of your family and sweet little Joshua.

My son, Ethan, was born last March with two undetected heart defects and we faced two and a half grueling months in the hospital. However, he's 17 months old today and not just surviving, but thriving! I'll be praying the same is true for your sweet boy.

I plan to put up a post tonight on my blog, linking to yours, and I'll definitely be following along!

Hi Jill. I followed your blog off Joye's (I know, lots of piggy-backs it seems) and wanted to let you know that I am thinking about and praying for your family's situation.

I also am a redhead (yay!) and I know exactly what you mean by fierce and fiesty - and I'm sure our husbands do too. I will pray that your fierce passion for your son, for LIFE, for love and for healing will bring strength and determination to both you and your husband. I pray that your fiestiness (is that a word?) will feed Joshua for his upcoming battles for a quick and smooth recovery.

Knowing what Joye went through with Ethan, I know you will need a strength that only God can provide, and I will be praying for all of you.

I found your blog through another heart mama. I am praying for you, your family, and your sweet baby boy. 3 1/2 yrs ago, God blessed us with Maggie Jane who was born with HRHS and an interrupted aortic arch. She has sailed through all 3 surgeries and is thriving. Feel free to take a peak at how well she's doing: www.happyheartsblog.com

Heart hugs and prayers,
Faith

Hi. My name is Carrie. My son Ternan will turn 1 the day your sweet Joshua will have his first surgery. Tiernan was born with several chd's and had his first surgery to deal with his arch at 15 days old. He had his Glenn on Christmas Eve. We have seen the power of prayer so clearly in his short life. We will be praying for you all and looking forward to the good news of his birth. <3

Hi Jill. I am Eric Drabenstot's mom. My daughter told me about what has been going on with your baby. You've been on my heart a lot lately, and I wanted to let you know that you are in my prayers. May God be glorified in and through you, your husband, and Baby Joshua. Our prayers for you will continue!
