Our Final Goodbye

It's taken me a year to finally ask my friend Molly for these pictures.

These are the very last moments that we had with Joshua.

Looking at these brings back the smell of his body, the feeling of his cold skin and feathery soft hair.

I remember his beautiful long fingers.

I'm reminded of how he looked in the onsie that I picked out for him
when we first found out about his heart.

Oh how he loved his snugglie-
Something I slept with for a week before Joshua was born
so he could smell me when I was away.

The love that surrounded us that day was palpable.

The sadness overshadowed by innocence and God's promises.

Saying goodbye was the hardest thing we have ever had to do.

I have been thinking about you and you family this week along with another family who lost their little boy around the same time Joshua passed away. I have a lot of respect for you and one of the many things I have learned is to hold my loved ones closer and to keep letting them know I love them. You are an amazing person. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives.
