Matt Hammitt, lead singer of Sanctus Real, is releasing his solo album, Every Falling Tear on Tuesday, September 13.
Matt and his wife Sarah have a baby boy named Bowen. Bowen was born with a very broken but very special heart.
Bowen has faced many struggles in his short life. So far, God's answer to his parents prayers has been a resounding "I'm not done yet." I'm so happy to tell you that Bowen is thriving, growing, and doing well.
Matt's album was written as a way to honor Bowen as well as a way to record what God has taught his family through the struggles with Bowen's CHD.
Matt and Sarah have also started an amazing foundation called Whole Hearts Foundation. This foundation has been established to help families, like ours, who have been affected by Congenital Heart Defects.

I don't have a CHD baby but I've following Bowen's story since he was born. I gotta say, I'm probably the least deserving person to get the CD but because of blog like yours and Bowen's I see life, my kids, and health in a whole new way. Matt's CD had a few songs released earlier, and they literally were on repeat for days while we were with our little one in the hospital having his surgery a few weeks ago . . . I would love to hear the rest - he somehow put into words (beautiful words and music) exactly how I was feeling!

I'm not a CHD parent, but I am a 24yr old CHDer (Tricuspid Atresia, HRHS...21yrs Post Fontan). I love Matt's song "All of Me"! The song is SO beautiful and SO touching and though I'm not a CHD parent, but hits home because I know my parents gave "all of themselves and their love" to me and still do. <3
