Just an Update

I'm not going to go into the emotional aspect of this. I'm too emotionally drained to get into it tonight. Please read my post below to read about the emotional/spiritual part of it.

Here are the facts:

Joshua has his 2nd heart surgery tomorrow morning (Monday) at 7:00am. We will meet with the surgeon at 6:30 to get our final questions answered and to review exactly what is going to be done.

Technically, his surgery tomorrow is not considered "open heart surgery." Open heart surgery is when they literally have to cut the heart. This surgery will not require them to physically cut the heart. They will however have to reopen his chest through the sternum and work inside his chest cavity. It's still a major surgery, just not as major as the last surgery he had.

Please continue to pray for our sweet boy. We have spent all day today cuddling, singing to, and loving on him because we don't know what the future holds for him. There is always the possibility that he may not come back to us tomorrow.

I will update on both facebook and twitter tomorrow. (It's just a quick text message that I send to both profiles.) Joshua, Shane, and I are all leaning on your prayers tonight and throughout tomorrow.

I will be praying. And I am so thankful an emergency surgery was not necessary today.

I couldn't sleep last night, thinking of your family and praying constantly, no matter what was going on.

I fell asleep at 1:30, and I woke to an email from my friend Chrystal, sent at 1:30, Saying she had just woke and couldn't sleep... and was praying for your family.

God has this covered. Tomorrow I will be on my knees!!!!

Love,
Molly

You have been in my prayers all day, and will continue to be. Thankful this could wait for Monday morning instead of a Sunday. Be strong mama bear, you're not alone.

I've just recently started following Joshua's journey, but you have both been in my prayers since. I will be in prayer for Joshua tomorrow, as well as you, your family, and his surgeons. I hope you get your miracle soon! Hugs.

Praying for Joshua, and for your family. Tonight I'm setting aside the worries of today, and offering up all my prayers for your precious baby. Just moments ago, I did not know how I could continue to manage the chaos and concerns in our lives right now. Then I visited your blog and realized how much someone else needed my prayers. My heart goes out to all of you.

I am praying that God will give you the grace to handle whatever comes your way and that through it all, He will draw you and your family closer to Himself. The Bible says, 'Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.' God knows the heaviness of your hearts and is there to be your comfort and to bear your burden.

Your strength and faith are a true testiment to your Father who is loving on your little boy right NOW!! As we stood and sang the words "Be Still and know I AM God." this morning, I was remined of your story and prayed right throught worship for you. You have so many prayer worriors for you right now. Praying that the healing hands of Jesus hold Joshua tight as they also guide the surgeons hands.

Praying for skill and wisdom for the surgeon, safety and comfort for Joshua, and peace and contentment for you while you wait. I know today will be hard but I am praying that the surgery goes quickly and that the shunt revision brings the sats back down so Joshua can heal and grow toward the Glenn. Hang in there - it does get easier (although not for a little while yet). Once you get past the Glenn you'll begin to see the bright side.
