Bullets

  • Shane and the kids came out this weekend. We had a great time. I took the kids to the Children's Museum while Shane stayed back and spent some time with Joshua.
  • I took Caleb swimming (I watched while he swam) and he was asking me what the words on the side of the pool say. I told him that it says "5 feet" He picked up his feet while swimming and looked at them and said "UH OH!!!!! I can't be here. I only have 2 feet!"
  • Surgery came in this morning to talk to me. They want to change Joshua's feedings to stricly bolus feedings (which I've been telling them to do for the past 2 weeks.....but what do I know...) They want to try that for a week before they will even get him on the surgery schedule for the G-tube. We probably won't get the g-tube for another 2 weeks and then we will have at least another week after that of "recovery." That means we really won't be home until October......i really got my hopes up that we were just looking at 2 more weeks....uuuuuggggghhhhhhhhhh
  • I have a post that I typed last week during one of my breakdowns. I'm debating about posting it or not. It's emotionally raw. Extremely raw. It was hard for me to even write....I'm not sure.....
  • My dear friend Molly reminded me of this post which also made me think of this post. Read them and enjoy! They both still make me laugh hysterically at myself when I think of them. (I laugh at myself quite often....even when no one else is laughing!)
  • While searching for the links above, I was rereading some of my old blog posts. Wow. Some of them are so hard to read. Especially the posts about when we knew something wasn't quite right with Joshua's heart, but didn't know what. If you are new to my blog we recieved the HLHS diagnosis on April 20, 2010 but we knew something wasn't quite right much earlier than that. Feel free to check back as early as February 2010 to see where it all began.
  • I recieved an envelope stuffed with cash (HA! I wish!) cards from my mom's work (which happens to be a church) They were all about Joshua and how people are praying for him. It's humbling to know how many people are continuing to pray for sweet Joshua's recovery.
  • Joshua is continuing to do well. His sats have been in the upper 90s and even 100 the past few days.

I don't understand the kissy lips either. Ha!!

I, too, have a picture of the beautiful blue 100. Only saw it a few times, so it was pretty exciting when it came. Mr. Wimpy Lungs came home and was still down around 94-95ish. I can only imagine how many times squirmy Joshua's alarm "boinks" (as I called it) when the lead doesn't pick up a reading. Most annoying thing ever (second to the "We're never getting out of here!" feeling.)

I'm sorry that it looks like your stay will be prolonged even further. I bet that place drives you nuts sometimes. I'm so thrilled though, that Joshua is doing as well as he is, and that you got some time with the rest of the family this weekend. What a blessing!!

Hang in there, lady. You RAWK. ;o)

Love & HUGS,
kirsten
