Seeing and Holding

Just wanted to let you know that I just got a call from the NICU nurse, and since Joshua's belly button has stopped oozing, I will get to hold Joshua either tonight or early tomorrow morning!!!!! (apparently that was the main reason for me not being able to hold him....)

I can't wait!!!! Another answer to prayer!!! Thank you Jesus!

Also, Caleb got to meet Joshua tonight. It was such a sweet moment
and I'm so excited to share the pictures with you! Enjoy the sweetness!

He played doctor with the mask and cap.
Every time Joshua cried or fussed,
Caleb said "It's ok little buddy...You are all right. I'll teach you how to play video games!"

My heart is truly full tonight!

Many more special moments to come! I have many in my "camp" praying for you guys as well...I keep getting asked for updates. :-) At least I can say I've met you in person now...ha!!!

He is absolutely gorgeous!!! All HLHS babies are....there is just something about them. :) I am so glad he's doing so well and pray he continues to do well. BTW, it's your RIGHT to hold him before surgery. Put your foot down if you have to. We had to work hard, too, to get to hold Blake before surgery. He was on the vent, which made it awkward, but we were able to hold him. I need it, and I like to think Blake did, too. :)

Awww! So sweet! So happy he got to see him! I almost posted/messaged you that as a NICU I don't usually let parents hold while they have a UAC (the line in his belly button that they draw blood from and get his blodd pressure) or at least until I feel comfortable that they won't bleed or anything! So happy that you are going to/got to hold him! I know what a sweet, special moment that is!

Oh, heaven! What joy! It does my heart good to read this and see these precious pics! And you're going to be able to hold him, too?? So jealous (since I didn't get to hold Chase 'til he was 6 days old and wasn't allowed to REALLY hold him 'til his UAC/UVC, RA, ventilator and chest tubes were all gone) but so overjoyed and happy for you! Can't wait to see THOSE pics!

Go, Joshua!!! Show 'em how it's done, big guy! Yay!!! :)

Congratulations! So happy you get to hold your little guy soon. Relish it...I know how much "healing" it did for me before our daughter went in for her first heart surgery.

Praying for you, your entire family and especially for Joshua. Be strong and hang in there!

Heart hugs,
Katie (mom to Maddie, HRHS)

Those pictures of Caleb with Joshua really tugged at my heart strings. They remind me so much of when Wyatt came to visit Logan after his first surgery. Brings back a flood of memories for me.

I can't wait to read all about you getting to hold Joshua for the first time. Enjoy it!
