How to pray part 2....

I've been thinking a lot about this, and I've come to a few conclusions.
I/We need to be praying for 100% healing.

I'm asking God for FULL 100% healing of Joshua's tiny little heart. What that looks like, I don't know.

He can heal Joshua's heart completely and fully if He so chooses. I wholeheartedly believe that. There is no doubt in my mind, that if God chooses, He could allow Joshua to be born without any sort of heart defect at all. Wouldn't that be amazing?!

I also know that God could (and probably will) allow Joshua to be born with a "defective" (at least in our eyes) heart. I know that God could allow him to go through the 3 surgeries. I'm praying that if this happens, God heal his body 100% from the surgeries, and that the surgeries be a success in allowing Joshua to live and live fully. I pray that while we are caring for Joshua in the NICU that we will be a beacon of light to other parents, nurses, doctors, and staff. That somehow Joshua's pain and our suffering will be used to show Christ to other people.

I also know that God could allow Joshua to only experience 100% healing in the arms of Jesus. Obviously, this would not be my choice nor my husband's choice, but God is capable of this as well. Once again, I pray that if this is how God chooses to heal Joshua, that we can continue to glorify and serve God.

Like I said, I'm not sure what 100% healing will look like to God. I'm just trusting that no matter what He does, that it will be to the glory of Him. I don't even know if I necessarily want to know right NOW what that healing will look like. I'm content in waiting and praying.

Please don't mistake, I'm asking God for 100% healing as in- no problems with Joshua's heart at all- but I really truly feel, at the center of my being, that whatever happens, God has His hands in it.

Will you continue to join us in prayer for 100% healing no matter what?

Absolutely!! We'll be praying for God to heal Joshua 100% - no matter what that looks like. I believe, too, that God is fully capable of touching Joshua's tiny heart with His healing power and rebuild the "defective" chambers of his heart. How cool! God does "heart work" on those who call upon His Name to be saved, but He also can do a literal "heart work" to completely heal a tiny baby's physical heart! That gives me goose bumps just thinking about it! Love to you all - Cindy

I thought about this very thing after reading your first prayer post. I know what it's like to be in the midst of grief and not see other options. I knew you'd get there. =) I have been praying for healing and will continue to do so.

AMEN!!! Great Prayer!!!!
this post reminds me of that quote i got out of "the forgotten God" that i'd sent to you before, as you are NOT doing what it says so many of us tend to do as believers in this time: "

"What if God doens't come through?

I think the fear of God failing us leads us to "cover for God".This means we ask for less, expect less, and are satified with less becuase we are afraid to ask for or expect more. We even convince ourselves that we don't WANT more - that we have all the "God" we need or could want. I can't imagine how much it pains God to see HIs children hold back from relationship withthe Holy Spirit out of fear taht He won't come through. HOw much it grieves HIm to watch his children ignore the promistes he 's made throughout Scripture due to fear that those promises won't be kept! Empowering His children with the strength of the Holy SPirit is something the father wants to do. It's not something we have to talk him into. He genuinely wants to see us walk in His strenght"

Also, i've sent this passage to you before, and i'm sending it to you again, as it is a wonderful reminder; one that we need to hear very regularly, especially in the midst of trials...

Isaiah 43: parts of 1 through 4
"...Do not be afraid, for i have ransomed you. i have called you by name; you are mine. when you go through deep waters and great trouble, i will be with you. when you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! when you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. for i am the Lord, your GOd, the HOly One of Israel... You are honored, and i Love you."

Amen! I'm praying for that exact same thing too! God has already shown His mighty hand in Joshua's life and I believe He will continue!

Wonderful! God can and will hear our prayers. First He has healed by having no Trisomy or Downs. Now as we continue to pray for total healing. God knows Joshua so intimately already and He will continue to heal, working on him and through him to His glory!
