We met with the realtor yesterday and we came away from the meeting with some good thoughts. He thinks that our income will be too much and that banks will say that we can afford to pay our mortgage. (That seems to be the trend these days.) He also doesn't think we can get what we need out of this house at this point. (We already knew that much!)
He did reccommend renting our house out. We had never really thought of doing that, but it is a great option. He said that he thinks we would be fair in asking for the amount we pay in mortgage plus utilities. The only problem is that we need to get all of our unfinished construction done before we could rent it out for the full amount that we would need.
That being said, God is working. We have some ideas on how to get our house finished and finished cheap. We also have friends and family who is supporting us 100% and is willing to do whatever we need to get this done.
Thank you all for your prayers. Continue to pray for the other people involved in this decision. Pray that we will find some great renters who will take care of the house so we can move back in and have minimal damage. Pray for our family and friends who will be helping to make this possible.
It's a lot to take in, and a lot to think about, but God is in it all.
