Baby Makin'

HA! Don't worry. We are not working on having another baby.

4 kids in 5 years is enough for me.

However, I am baby making.

Just after my dad died, my friend Molly started a business.

She is one of those people that has more talent in her pinky finger than I do in my entire body, and I frequently tease her that everything she touches turns to gold.

He most recent adventure is making dolls.

Aren't they beautiful?

After a few weeks of doing it by herself, she quickly realized that she needed some help. Her business was growing quickly and she couldn't keep up.

Somehow, I became involved. We jokingly called me the "Master Cutter." I began cutting out the fabric for the bodies of these sweet babies. After a few weeks of doing that, I also started crocheting the hair, stuffing the bodies, rolling the heads with wool, helping pick outfits, and helping ship the babies to their new homes.

2 days a week turned into 4 days a week.

I went from borrowing my mom's sewing machine to buying my own, along with a serger.

Woah....Who have I become?!

It's become the perfect way for me to earn a little extra money AND stay home with my kids.

It's also become a new hobby and I'm surprised at how good I am at it, considering I'm completely self taught.

For Hannah's birthday, I created this using Molly's pattern.

Meet Pinkie Pie.

Hannah designed her, herself.

She has pink skin.

And purple hair.
We were convinced Hannah was going to name her Pink Skin Purple Hair.
She's creative like that.

This is the first hand made item I have ever made.

Pinkie Pie was made from beginning to end by me and me alone. She's not perfect, but she was a labor of love and Hannah adores her.

I also made a carrier for Pinkie Pie.

Hannah literally doesn't go anywhere without Pinkie Pie.

Now, I'm working on a doll for Caleb. He's been begging me to make one for him.

I'm not sure who I have become lately. I've never had a crafty bone in my body, but I am sure loving this new adventure.

You apparently have many creative bones in your body...they were just hidden away and have now popped to the surface! Pinkie Pie and her carrier are a adorable~but it's Hannah's face that is the best: absolute love and pride!
So glad Caleb is going to get one too!! And you made that sunhat for Lukey...you have creativity just flowing out of you!!! Lucky kids!

To get a baby, you would have to go through Sweet Seriah.

However, the carrier was my design and I would love to make more if there is interest. Please send me an email at jillhaskins1@yahoo.com and we'll figure it out! :o)
