Victory!

I've been participating in Weight Watchers for 3 weeks now. I love their program and the flexibility that it allows me to just live life and eat the foods that I enjoy eating.

This past week has been a great victory for me.

The outpouring of love and support for our family has been overwhelming. One of the ways that we have been blessed is with food. We have 2 refrigerators, 2 freezers, and a pantry full of food. We have not had to think about meals or anything related to food for a few days. It's all been provided for us.

What a blessing, but what a challenge for me.

The kitchen table has been covered in chocolaty goodness- cookies, brownies, Godiva chocolates...you get the point.

The patio (because it's so cold out) has been full of pop, teas, and wine.

The casseroles are covered in cheese, packed full of yummy goodness, and lots and lots of Weight Watchers points.

However, this week, I have been determined to continue to lose weight. I have told myself that if I can loose weight after this week, I can lose weight any time.

I worked really hard to allow myself a cookie or a  brownie, but stay within my portions and points each day. It took A LOT of will power to say no to "just one more cookie."

Last night, I weighed in. I was hoping for just a small loss. Any loss would feel like a victory to me. I was shocked when I looked down and saw a 2.2 pound loss!!!!!

It sounds so stupid, but I am so unbelievably proud of myself for my loss this week. I'm down a total of 7.2 pounds since I started Weight Watchers 3 weeks ago.

This week has been a great victory for me. My confidence in my ability to lose weight and become healthy has been boosted.

YAY!! I need to start a program that works with a crazy schedule. I work 40-45 hours a week, full-college courseload, 3 kids, a husband, and housework. Maybe this is something I need to look into :) Keep up the great work!

I really really believe in Weight Watchers. They allow you to eat what you want, when you want, you just have to watch HOW MUCH you eat.

It was so good for me this week. I allowed myself to have a brownie and a cookie- but just one instead of 10. I also enjoyed the casseroles that were brought, but I just had to be sure that I had a very small portion size of it.

It is definitely worth it!!!

Awesome job!! Loosing weight is hard and to do it with all that food around is just over the top. Way to go. And thank you for sharing this journey with us so we can cheer you on.

Hi Jill,

I lost 85 pounds 10 years ago on WW. It is indeed an awesome and realistic program that teaches you how to choose well. Not how to eat pre-made, pre-packaged, frozen food. It teaches you about real food and cooking and healthy living.

And BTW 7.2 pounds is awesome! Celebrate every victory. No one knows more than you how hard life is and can be. Every victory deserves celebrating and you deserve joy!

God bless!
