Hannah has a new habit.
Wherever we are, she goes searching for her "baby bwudder Joshua."
It's like she's always on a treasure hunt no matter where she's at, and when she finds the treasure she gets so SO excited!
My parents have a pad of paper and a mouse pad with Joshua's picture on it and they have pictures hanging on the walls. Hannah searches for them every time we are at their house. When she finds them, she squeals with delight! "wook!!!! there's my baby bwudder, Joshua!!! I found him!!!"
She searches people's refrigerators, desks, end tables and picture frames in hopes of finding her "bwudder".
Sometimes it makes me so sad to think that she will only know her brother through pictures and through stories that we tell her, but other times (and most often) it brings me so much joy to see her searching for him, remembering him, and loving him.
We are continuing to make new memories of Joshua. Something that I didn't think was going to be possible after he died. I'm thankful that Joshua is continuing to live in our hearts and our family, even if he isn't here with us!

Memories come from the heart and little Miss Hannah continues to be amazing at making memories of Joshua in her own way. That is a gift from God to you and your family. Love all of you.
:) Maybe on his birthdays, you should print out some cards with small gifts or candy and hide them around the house...it could become a regular reminder of him for Miss Hannah and Mr. Caleb. A Haskins celebrations for the joy that was brought through Joshie's life...
*Correction: I typed faster than my brain...print out cards with his photos on them...maybe even Bible verses that have brought you joy and peace (so that the kids can learn them as they grow older)...
I'd love to help if you decide to do it. :)
Think about her reaction when she goes on her treasure hunt in heaven! It gives me goosebumps!
That's amazingly sweet... *hugs*
So cool. Loving her memories
